This post was created in partnership with Sephora. All opinions are my own!
If you like fresh/woodsy/unisex scents, these are two fragrances that you should definitely check out.
They would also make for great Valentine’s gifts, whether you’re treating yourself to a new fragrance, or are looking for something to gift to your partner.
Jo Malone London Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne Review
Like many Jo Malone London scents that came before it, Wood Sage & Sea Salt has something of a cult following. Just do a quick scan of the enthusiastic reviews on Sephora—people all seem to be in agreement that Wood Sage & Sea Salt is truly something special.
Being a long-time fan of everything Jo Malone London creates (Lime Basil & Mandarin in particular) I had a feeling this was a scent I would like, but I definitely didn’t expect it to be something I ended up wearing almost every day.
It’s warm, it’s fresh, and it somehow feels unusual yet comfortingly familiar at the same time—what more could you ask for in a scent?!
- Ambrette Seeds
- Sea Salt
Who It Would Be Good For: people with quiet confidence; those who appreciate the beauty in subtlety; beach-lovers; anyone with sophisticated & refined taste
What it Reminds Me Of: frolicking on the beach in Malibu; the salty freshness of ocean air as the ride rolls in; that amazing “clean” feeling you get when you smell your skin after you’ve just stepped out of the shower
Maison Margiela ‘REPLICA’ When the Rain Stops Review
Even if you haven’t yet smelled one of Maison Margiela’s cult-favored fragrances, you’ve likely seen their iconic apothecary-inspired glass bottles.
The line of Eau de Toilettes—called ‘REPLICA‘—is best-known for their luxury scents that are inspired by hyper-specific places in time.
Take, for instance, ‘REPLICA’s latest launch, When the Rain Stops. The fragrance was inspired by “fresh rain and sunrays”—like the ones you’d find in Dublin, back in 1967. (See what I mean by hyper-specific?)
While I certainly wasn’t alive in 1967, and I’ve only been to Dublin once—I can 100% envision the nostalgia they were going for when creating this unisex perfume. The French fragrance house has somehow managed to successfully transport the wearers of its scents to places they’ve never actually been before… all with a single spritz.
- Pink Pepper
- Aquatic Accord
- Rose Petal
Who It Would Be Good For: bold personalities; people who aren’t afraid of making a statement; anyone who wants their fragrance to last from morning ‘til night; those who prefer stronger, masculine scents
What it Reminds Me Of: wet grass after a rainstorm; a field of flowers that’s wet with mist; coming home to a freshly cleaned kitchen
