25 Sports Bras for Large Breasts That Are Actually Supportive

best sports bras for large chests

If you’ve been a reader of my blog for a while, you know about my pain trying to find supportive full-cup swimwear—and finding the best sports bras for large breasts isn’t much easier.

In my experience (and I’m sure yours too) a lot of sports bras that claim to be “large” don’t fit properly or aren’t supportive enough for a high-impact workout or a run.

There is truly nothing worse than showing up to a spin class or attempting to do a streaming dance cardio class only to realize five minutes in that your boobs are about to smack you in the face. But it’s happened to me more times than I can count!

So, over the years—and after spending an inordinate amount of time testing different options—I’ve found some amazing underwire sports bras and the best high impact sports bras for big boobs, as well as minimizing sports bras, and even bras that specifically cater to running with large breasts.

I also turned to my fellow busty ladies in my Facebook group for their input, and I’ve included many of their suggestions here as well.

I’ll continue to add to this list as I discover new big-boob-friendly brands.

ICYMI: I also have posts on the absolute best strapless bra for large chests and the best everyday bras for large chests.

The Best Sports Bras for Large Breasts

1. Natori

Whenever someone asks me for a the best high-impact sports bras, the first two I always recommend are from Natori. The Yogi Convertible bra is designed with a hidden underwire and light foam cups, making it super supportive for running or any other high-impact workout. The sizing goes up to 40G.

The second style I absolutely love (and the one I find myself wearing most often) is the Gravity High Impact Underwire Sports Bra. The main difference between the Gravity Bra and the Yogi bra is that the Gravity doesn’t have molded cups. Instead, the underwire is covered by double layer of fabric, so it’s almost like having two bras in one. Sizing goes up to a G cup.

In my opinion, these two are the all-around winners across the board.

2. Panache

Another highly rated option: the Panache Ultimate High-Impact Underwire Sports Bra has been developed to minimize bounce and is available in cup sizes up to a J.

As its name implies, this is one of the best sports bras for running with large breasts, as it’s specifically designed for high impact workouts.

3. Wacoal

As many busty babes know, Wacoal is one of the absolute best brands for fuller-bust bras. (They make the strapless bra that is a godsend for us DD+ chicks!) Though they have seven styles of sports bras that come in sizing up to an H cup, the underwire sports bra is the best for high-impact workouts.

It offers full support for large breasts, is incredibly comfortable, and (best of all) it’s available on Amazon.

A second favorite option from Wacoal is their Brandi Underwire Sports Bra. What makes this style unique is that it has convertible straps, so women who prefer the additional support of a racer-back can adjust the straps accordingly.

4. Champion

In terms of the best affordable sports bras for large breasts,  Champion’s Spot Comfort Wireless Bra is fantastic. It converts to a racer-back for extra support and has over 12,000 four-star reviews on Amazon.

A member of my Facebook group (who is an F cup size) commented that she ran a half-marathon wearing it, and she “only needed one” (which I know we can all relate to, since I’ve been known to double up my sports bras in the past.)

With that kind of ringing endorsement, I would definitely consider it to be one of the best sports bras for running if you have a fuller chest.

Also: did I mention that it’s also under $50?!

5. Lululemon

It’s probably no surprise Lululemon made it on this list. Offering great bras for all sizes, the two best Lululemon bras for large breasts I can vouch for are the Enlite Front-Zip Bra (which goes up to a size DDD) and the Free to be Serene Bra, which offers light support and a pretty, strappy open back (for cup C/D.)

The Enlite Bra is definitely my recommendation if you plan to do any kind of high impact workout. One thing to note about it is that it doesn’t have adjustable straps, so keep that in mind before ordering.

6. Under Armour

You can’t go wrong with Under Armour. When it comes to their top sports bras for large busts—the two best-sellers are The High Crossback Zip Bra (which zips down the front and has adjustable racerback straps) and the Infinity Mid Covered Bra (which has mesh panels for added breathability.)

The Infinity bra and is super soft to the touch and extremely comfortable because of its one-piece padding. This bra does not have an underwire, so that’s something to keep in mind for women who prefer it.

Also, note that the Infinity bra doesn’t come in cup-sizes, but it does go up to a XXL—and since it has adjustable shoulder straps and back clasps, it can really be customized to your specific fit.

The High Crossback bra, on the other hand, does come in cup-sizes — the largest available is a 44DDD.

7. Athleta

Athleta has a wealth of high-impact sports bra options for all sizes, but particularly larger chested ladies.

Some of the best sports bras for a DD cup include the Advance Bra for high-impact and high coverage and the Athena Longline Bra (which doubles as a bra and shirt) for medium coverage.

Whether you’re doing cardio or taking a pilates class class, both of these bras will keep your girls in check.

8. Outdoor Voices

When I asked people to share their “best sports bra for large bust” recommendations, Outdoor Voices was a brand that kept coming up.

Both their Zip bra and Doing Things bra are a better option for fuller-bust support. I would consider the Doing Things style to be a medium support sports bra—great for a yoga class or hanging around the house.

The Zip Bra is Outdoor Voices’ sports bra with the highest level of support, so it can be worn for higher-impact activities.

Note that the sizing of this bra is unique: you first select between XS and XL, and then choose your cup size (A/B, B/C, or C/D). At the moment the sizing does not go higher than a DD-cup, which is a bit of a bummer!

9. Nike

It’s no coincidence that a lot of runners swear by Nike. Their bras offer perfect thickness, holding you in place without being annoying to move around in.

This Nike Swoosh is one of the best because its removable pads add just enough support without adding bulk.

They also have great options for plus size sports bras, like the Nike Alate Minimalist, which has adjustable straps, a four-hook back closure, and goes up to a size 44G.

10. MIRITY

With over 58,000 4.5-star Amazon reviews, the Mirity bra is a great affordable exercise bra for large breasts. My only gripe is that it doesn’t offer cup-specific sizing, so you’ll have to choose between XS and 3XL.

I love that many of the Amazon reviews feature photos of real women wearing the bra, so you’re able to see what it looks like on a range of different body types, including plus size women.

14. Anita Actives

Anita Actives is another brand that came recommended a few times. Their sports bras offer maximum support all the way up to cup H — sure to hold your ladies in place no matter the activity!

This Wire-Free bra was made for high impact and it’s available in band sizes 30 to 46.

15. Shefit

This Ultimate Sports Bra from Shefit is a fan favorite! It’s fully-adjustable with a zip front and a unique design that lets you personalize your fit and control your level of support, made for cups up to I.

If you’re looking for a similar fit with lighter support (for walking, yoga, or stretching), try the Flex Sports Bra, which is also made for cup sizes A through I.

17. Reflex

  • Seamless Stone Wash Bralette

Someone in the #SilbSquad recommended these bras, which have amazing reviews and are a TOTAL steal. When I asked her what she loved about them, she said, “the band doesn’t ride up which I find happens a lot of the time.”

She also noted that they keep her locked in without feeling constricted. “It’s a barely there feeling, but with solid support.”

Handful! You would love this company. The bras speak for themselves. The company’s slogan is “flatter, don’t flatten,” and that’s exactly what the product does.

Handful also has a great mission behind it, supporting breast cancer survivors.
