While I’ve certainly gotten my skincare and makeup routines down to a tee, figuring out how to mimic them while traveling is an entirely different ballgame. With restrictions on toiletry and liquid sizes, you sometimes have to sacrifice bringing your favorite moisturizers, makeup removers, and haircare products along on a trip.
Sure, you can transfer some of your holy grail products into smaller containers, but I’ve found it much more convenient to have designated travel toiletries for the trips you go on. After years of frequent travel, I’ve worked my way through numerous “mini” beauty products and am pleased to finally say that I’ve nailed down the best of the best.
Whether you’re going on a far-flung vacation to a tropical destination or a quick weekend girls trip, these are the best travel toiletries. Bonus: Most of them are available on Amazon!
Oh, and if you’re looking for a great toiletry bag, this is the one I have. I love that it’s clear so you can see everything you’re packing.
Supergoop! Glow Screen
I honestly get excited whenever I apply this Glow Screen. If you want your skin to essentially glow like a disco ball, this is the product for you. I love that it has sunscreen in it and think it offers the perfect amount of coverage for travel days. Bonus: it’s made with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, which both offer major skincare benefits.
Wet Brush Detangler
The Wet Brush is likely a hit in your house already, but this travel-sized version comes in so handy during trips. I like to pack one in my suitcase and bring one in my tote or purse for freshening up post-plane ride.
Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm
It’s no secret that I have a major love affair with Elemis Cleansing Balm. It melts away your makeup instantly, smells amazing, and leaves your skin feeling dewy and smooth. It’s a staple in my everyday skincare routine, and I’m happy to report that I can bring this smaller jar along with me on all my trips.
Bioderma Micellar Water
This is another holy grail product for me (and has been for years). It’s so great at removing stubborn eye makeup while still offering a gentle and moisturizing cleanse. I always have it on hand.
Sol De Janeiro
This is my go-to after-shower indulgence, and I don’t skimp out on it even if I’m traveling. It’s so hydrating, thick, and the smell is just insane. It doesn’t leave you feeling greasy or sticky.
Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Deodorant
The #SilbSquad goes crazy for this deodorant, and I’m equally as obsessed. It’s so good that it’s constantly sold out, so grab some whenever you see it in stock!
Necessaire Body Ritual
This set comes with everything you need for an indulgent vacation shower. The body exfoliator, wash, serum, and lotion all smell amazing and leave your skin super soft—no hotel soap needed!
Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil Primer
I’ve been a fan of this priming spray for a long time so I was thrilled to discover the travel-sized version. I’d consider it an essential for anyone who wants to combat frizz and protect their hair when blow drying.
Oribe Maximista Thickening Spray
My stylist recommended this spray to me and it really helps with volume and thickness at my roots. It also provides protection from heat if you use hot tools.
La Mer Mini Moisturizer
You shouldn’t have to skimp out on your luxury skincare faves just because you’re traveling. This has been one of my go-to moisturizers for years—even on vacation.
Hollywood Fashion Secrets Tape
If you’re venturing somewhere that requires you to wear dresses or tank tops, this fashion tape will give you some extra support.
Gillette Mini Razors
Sure, you can bring a regular razor on a flight, but I just find these mini razors to be so much more convenient to pack. No more sacrificing toiletry bag space for items you can find in smaller sizes.
Augustinus Bader Mini The Rich Cream
If you haven’t ever tried this cream, it’s basically an entire skincare routine in one bottle (which makes it a no-brainer to bring along when traveling). It makes a huge difference in my overall skin texture. In my opinion, it’s totally worth the premium you have to pay.
Korres Foaming Cream Cleanser
This is a more recent find of mine and I’m loving it. It’s a cream cleanser that’s super gentle yet does a great job at removing makeup. The consistency is really luxe (without the luxe price point).
Batiste Mini Dry Shampoo
Let’s be real, no one wants to wash their hair every day when they’re on vacation. That’s where dry shampoo comes in. I’ve tried just about every brand and can confirm that this one is the best of the best.
Living Proof Mini Dry Shampoo
This is another one of my favorite dry shampoo finds. It’s lightweight but does a good job at freshening up greasy strands.
Oribe Superfine Hair Spray
This Oribe hairspray works wonders on styled hair without leaving it with a crunchy, overdone texture. The small spray bottle is also the perfect size for tossing in your purse.
Travel Toothbrush
This might seem obvious, but toting an electric toothbrush or even a regular sized toothbrush in your carry-on bag is taxing. These are collapsible—and you can’t beat the convenience of buying them on Amazon.
Shout Wipe & Go
Pack these stain removers for all those unforeseen spills and mishaps that happen during your travels. Trust me, you’ll be thankful you have these with you regardless of your final destination.
Downy Wrinkle Releaser
Another issue you run into a lot when traveling is dealing with wrinkly clothes, which can get very annoying when you’ve strategically planned out your vacation outfits. I always bring this wrinkle releaser spray with me on trips so I don’t have to deal with an iron or a steamer.
