While I’m by no means an expert in the hair department, I do feel as though I’ve mastered the art of the loose curl / beachy wave after many years of trial and error. But I can’t take all of the credit—I basically let my wand do all the work for me. The tool I use is the Beachwaver, which you’ve probably seen me demo on Instastories. I’ve had mine for YEARS (literally, since it first came out) and it’s my go-to for everyday.
If you’re not familiar, the Beachwaver is one of those automatic rotating curling irons—you clamp in your hair, press a button, and the barrel rolls the strand for you. IT’S MAGIC and not a gimmick, even though it kind of sounds like it would be, right? (You know I would tell you if it was a gimmick.)
Fun fact: the woman who created it (Sarah Potempta) is a celeb hairstylist, and she came up with the idea because her clients couldn’t figure out how to do their own hair when she wasn’t around. I think she launched it like 8 years ago, and it’s now known as the device used backstage at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show (or at least that’s what I’m told.)
ANYWAY, since it’s a lot easier to show you rather than explain it, I filmed a tutorial (PLEASE BEAR WITH ME, IT’S MY FIRST!) I promise, you can legit curl your entire head in 15 minutes flat.
HERE’S WHAT I USE:
The Beachwaver Pro (1.25 inch)
Bumble & Bumble Hair Dresser’s Invisible Oil Primer
Oribe Superfine Hairspray
Mason Pearson Boar Bristle Brush
The Wet Brush
