Sephora’s VIB Beauty Insider Spring Sale 2021 is Upon Us. Here’s What to Buy

best things to buy at sephora vib insider spring sale 2020

Savvy makeup and skincare junkies know that every April, Sephora hosts an epic two weeks of discounts on almost everything in-store and online.

Since I’ve had so many people ask me for info and product recommendations, I decided to put together a quick outline of everything you’ll need to know, as well as the items that I personally feel are worth the money.

When is the Sephora Spring VIB Beauty Insider Sale for 2021?

Here’s the breakdown for this year’s Spring savings event:

  • ROUGE: Friday, 4/9 – Monday, 4/19
  • VIB: Tuesday, 4/13 – Monday, 4/19
  • INSIDER: Thursday, 4/15 –  Monday, 4/19

As is always the case, the sale is exclusive to Sephora’s three tiers of Beauty Insider Rewards Program—Rouge, VIB, and Insider.

What discounts can people expect during the Sephora Spring Sale?

That depends on your level of “status.” Below is a breakdown of the exact percentages for each tier:

  • ROUGE: 20%
  • VIB: 15%
  • INSIDER: 10%

What is excluded from the sale?

One thing to keep in mind is that although most items are included in the sale, there are a few exclusions to note:

  • One Dyson item (now would be the time to pull the trigger on the Air Wrap since it never goes on sale!)
  • Not valid on The Ordinary, MAC Cosmetics VIVA GLAM products, NUDESTIX Anti-Bacterial Hand Sanitizer Gel products
  • Not valid on orders shipping outside the U.S. or Canada

What to Buy During Sephora’s VIB Sale:

If you’re planning to shop the sale, I hope you find this list helpful—and if you’re not in a financial position to spend right now—I completely hear you. (Please do not feel pressured to buy just because there’s a sale! There will always be more sales!)

One more thing to note! Many of you know this already, but using my links when you shop is a great way to support me/my business (since I earn a small percentage of affiliate income based on anything you purchase after clicking something in this post.)

So, without further ado, here are my top recommendations for beauty, skincare, and haircare during the Sephora VIB sale.

I own and have tested every. single. thing. included below, which means they’ve been chosen because they have my stamp of approval.

In the skincare + body category, you’ll see that I’ve included one of my favorite eye creams, a great vitamin C serum (which is available in a travel size—a fab option if you want to test it first), and the face mist that I keep at my desk + in my carry-on bag at all times.

Also: two Drunk Elephant products that I genuinely believe live up to the hype, the exfoliating pads that completely changed my skin, and the idiot-proof self-tanner that I’ve been using weekly during quarantine. It comes with a mit. (I like the medium/dark shade because I prefer a deeper tan.)

P.S. Be sure to check out my post on the right way to use vitamin C serums if you decide to buy one!

In terms of makeup—these are items that I’ve used every single day for years. For ex: the contouring bronzer I continue to go back to no matter how many other fancy things I try, and the holy grail of highlighters in a shade that is universally flattering. (Stock up – because the brand is going out of business!)

Also: the product I use to get a dewey + filtered-looking skin (I can wear a 3, 4, or even 5 in this – it’s flexible), my “brow pencil for dummies,” and the under-eye brightening corrector I’ve raved about forever that is about to be discontinued. (You put it underneath your concealer to counteract dark circles.)

I combed through all the hair products (see what I did there?) and my top picks include: this bond-building at-home mask that is a SAVIOR for color-treated/damaged hair, and this heat-protectant that gives you the silkiest locks ever (while protecting them from heat styling.)

For my fellow fine-haired ladies—this shampoo & conditioner is my favorite for added thickness and volume. If you have medium/thick hair, I can’t recommend Ouai’s shampoo/conditioner enough. (When the product is created by a celebrity hairstylist with medium/thick hair, you know it’s legit.)

Lastly, I am now a silk pillowcase convert.

Cicapair Color Correcting Treatment

This went viral on TikTok for its magical color-correcting ability, and was subsequently sold out for weeks—it’s now back in stock and I’m getting my hands on it! BUY NOW

St Tropez Glow Mousse Kit

I’m always on the lookout for new self-tanning products, and this new one from St Tropez definitely caught my eye. I’ve heard great things about it from everyone who has tried it. BUY NOW

Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting Liquid Exfoliant

This is one of those cult-favored products that every skincare guru I know is obsessed with, and I haven’t tried it yet! It’s supposed to help with blackheads and minimize pores. BUY NOW

Glow Recipe Niacinamide Glow Drops

I initially wrote this off as a product that looked like it was meant for teens, but after seeing a woman in her mid-30s rave about it on Instagram…consider me convinced. BUY NOW

Alpha Beta Glow Pads

This is actually a re-purchase for me. I love these self-tanning face wipes and I just ran out, so I’ll be buying again during the sale! BUY NOW

Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector

You may have heard that Becca (the brand behind my FAVORITE under eye corrector) is going out of business. SAD! I will be stocking up on this before it’s discontinued. BUY NOW

Lawless Forget the Filler Lip Plumper

I’ve heard amazing things about this lip plumping gloss and last time I went to buy it it was sold out. Looks like it’s back in stock now! BUY NOW

Sephora Vacay Set

So Sephora’s gift sets are the unsung heroes of the sale. This one has SO MANY of my favorite products, and a bunch of others that I’ve been dying to try. A steal! BUY NOW

Patrick Ta Major Sculpt Contour & Bronzer

I just saw a makeup artist demo this on her IG story and it looked pretty incredible. I’m sold. BUY NOW

Saie Glowy Super Gel Dewy Highlighter

When @Things.I.Bought.And.Liked says it’s good, you know it’s good. And when the product has “glowy” “super gel” and “dewy” in the name? That speaks to me on a deep level. BUY NOW

In terms of gift sets: these are an amazing way to try brands that you’ve been curious about at a great value. The Dr. Barbara Sturm set is a crazy good deal, as is this Sephora Favorites kit.

I’m obsessed with Dr. Dennis Gross products and I know many of you are too. This gift set, which includes daily peel pads, a cleansing gel, and a pore serum, is the perfect thing to buy if you’re new to the brand. I also love all things La Mer and think this is a total steal!

Hey Linds! Great list. My prying husband is asking if you have any recommendations for men? He doesn’t have much of any routine and I’m trying to justify DDG pads – so maybe if he gets some basics, he’ll understand? 🙂

What sunscreen for face do you recommend?
I’ve seen goop glow advertised a lot lately.
Looking for something to wear alone or with makeup.
I have some skin medica that didn’t do the job after a halo😬

Thanks so much. Love everything you do!!

    Hi there,

Looking for a dark spot/melanin lightening face cream/oil/etc… I’ve tried white lightening serum but I feel that it overall brightens well but does nothing to sun spots. Trying to avoid any laser before summer 🙂

    Thanks 🙏

Decided to pick up the Summer Fridays jet lag mask and the Kiehl’s creamy eye treatment and I’m loving them so far! Any sheet mask recommendations – planning a little self care pamper and would love something super hydrating!
