What to Wear in St. Barths: Outfit Inspo & Packing Guide

villa marie st barths

So here’s the biggest misconception people have about what to wear in St. Barths—it’s not as fancy as you think! Sure, you’ll find women toting Birkins, but for the most part, the dress code is fairly casual. I always describe it as an “anything goes” kind of place.

I’ll never forget on my first trip to the island, I got DECKED to go to lunch at this beachfront restaurant we’d heard amazing things about.

Well, wouldn’t you know, when we walked in, the first person I saw was a hot French dude in his late 4os…barefoot and shirtless. In the restaurant. His feet were covered in sand and he was delicately eating a 30 euro Caprese salad. The best part? It wasn’t out of place or unusual. If anything, I was the one who felt weirdly overdressed in wedges. That’s St Barths in a nutshell. Below you’ll find a basic list of what to pack for St Barths—as well as outfit inspo based on things I’ve worn during my own trips.

WHAT TO WEAR IN ST BARTHS DURING THE DAY:

  • Swimsuits
  • Sun hats
  • Cover-ups
  • Jean shorts
  • Flat sandals

  • Sundresses
  • Short summery dresses
  • White jeans/jean shorts
  • Cute blouses
  • Flat sandals or wedges (only if you feel so inclined—definitely not a requirement.)

Funny enough it’s from a street market in Thailand where I got it for like 3 dollars! But there’s a similar one from JCrew I usually recommend to people! http://bit.ly/2PyaC7u
